At the end of April I head out to Dublin for RTÉ Mojocon 2016, an international conference celebrating mobile journalism and innovation in digital newsgathering and content creation for broadcast and online.
As part of this year’s Mojocon I am moderating a panel session featuring filmmaker Philip Bloom, news shooter Dan Chung, digital documenter Christian Payne, brand storyteller David Lawless and award-winning video journalist Scott Rensberger. The panel is called ‘Is it still Mojo if shot with…’? From speaking with the panel it promises to be a provocative session, questioning the what and why of mobile journalism.
Last year’s inaugural Mojocon was one of the highlights of my year, a delight finally to meet so many of the mobile journalism community with whom I’d rubbed shoulders online over four or five years previously. Glen Mulcahy, leading light in the community and founder of Mojocon, promises new stories this year, and I wholly expect the narrative to have moved on in this year’s event.
Mojocon takes place on 29th and 30th April 2016 in Dublin, further information and tickets available from the Mojocon website.
** UPDATE – Tickets for Mojocon have now sold out! But sessions from the event are being live streamed in association with Teradek.
