RTÉ Mojocon may once have majored on mobile journalism but in a short time it has developed into far more. Mojocon 2017 promises to take mobile content creators on a new journey as it heads west to Galway, Ireland’s cultural capital.
Storytellers from around the world come to RTÉ Mojocon in Ireland every year to learn about innovation in journalism, filmmaking and content creation, exploring new ways to leverage social media, live streaming, 360-degree video, and virtual reality.
Technology plays a fundamental role in enabling many of these innovations, and brands including Sennheiser, Google, Shure fill the Mojocon exhibitor halls every year. However, telling your story with whatever kit you have remains at the heart of Mojocon.
To accommodate the diversity this year’s conference has grown to feature two days of plenaries, panels and discussions alongside a full day of practical, hands-on workshops. What’s more, Mojocon has departed from its Dublin base and gone west to Galway, Ireland’s cultural capital.
Back to telling stories. Mojocon organisers have strived to keep the event’s content fresh, with new speakers telling new stories every year. It’s a testament to the strength of the community and the movement as a whole that there is no shortage of insightful speakers.
I will be there hosting the live stream as Teradek brings its Live Show to once again to Mojocon – watch the interviews from the Mojocon 2016 Teradek Live Show here.
RTÉ Mojocon 2017 takes place on the 4th to 6th May, tickets available from mojocon.rte.ie
